Helping children grow in confidence, respect, and connection
Dance To Success brings the Dancing Classrooms program into North Texas schools. Through ballroom and social dance, children practice trying something new, working with different classmates, and treating one another with care.
What students practice through dance
Confidence to try
Students practice unfamiliar steps, recover after mistakes, and keep learning. Each lesson gives them opportunities to participate and try again.
Connection with classmates
Students rotate partners and work with different classmates. They practice cooperating across differences and contributing to a shared activity.
Respect in action
Partner dancing asks students to listen, pay attention to another person, and consider how their choices affect a partner and the class.
Active and joyful learning
Music, movement, and shared practice give students an active way to learn together. No previous dance experience is needed.
These skills are practiced throughout the residency as students learn together, work with new partners, and respond to challenges.
